On behalf of the CAAWG7   Organizing Team at the Geological Survey of Namibia it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 7th Congress of the African Association of Women in Geosciences (CAAWG), to be held in beautiful and diverse Windhoek from November 3rd – November 9th, 2014. The 7th AAWG conference is being held in/organized, taking into consideration the current challenges the continent is facing in view of the changing climatic conditions, which is threatening sustainable development agenda in Africa. We are looking forward to welcoming members of the geoscience community and to presentations of their most recent findings.

The climate and its implications on development is a critical and important issue throughout the world. This conference is dedicated to the “Earth Sciences and Climate Change: Challenges to Development in Africa” theme. In addition to the keynote address, presentations and workshop, a 3 day post-conference field excursion is planned to giving the CAAWG7 community an opportunity to see the beautiful Namibian geology and landscape
